  • Fierce hoof green world! Indian energy moves towards a green future

India’s solar panel system sector is booming, with the country expected to add 35 to 40 gigawatts of solar energy annually by 2030, enough to power more than 30 million homes annually, a report said.

The Institute for Solar Energy Economics and Financial Analysis and Climate Energy Finance estimates that India, the world’s third-largest solar system consumer, will have 405 gigawatts of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030. It is expected to surpass the government’s goal of providing 50% of the country’s electricity by 2030 from non-fossil fuels.

But stopping coal capacity and switching to solar  energy sources requires financing. Recent estimates say India will need about $223 billion in investment to meet its 2030 solar energy goals.
